The Ghost of Sir Simon de Canterville haunts the inheritors of his baronial estate in this play of modern American culture vs. the British tradition of ‘living with ghosts.’ The Gothic atmosphere lends itself to a mixture of the macabre with comedy, juxtaposing devices from traditional English ghost stories such as creaking floorboards, clanking chains, and ancient prophecies with symbols of modern American consumerism like Facebook and Starbucks. Get ready for special effects, slapstick humor and homage to old movies, topped off with a tour of the infamous House of Blackbeard Haunted House! The Canterville Ghost World Premiere is this years’ Bay Area Halloween one-stop fright-fest-fun for the entire family!
